Scope
This privacy policy applies to the NeedRest macOS application, also known as 屏幕休息助手, and this support website. Updated September 18, 2026.
Local information
NeedRest stores preferences, the local trial start date, daily active-use duration, and counts of completed and postponed breaks on your Mac. The app uses elapsed time and system idle, sleep, and session status to estimate active use. It does not record keystrokes, screenshots, document contents, browsing history, code, or trading activity.
Custom artwork
If you choose a local image for reminders, NeedRest uses macOS file access to display it. The selected file reference and permission bookmark remain on your Mac. The image is not uploaded by NeedRest.
No app tracking or analytics
The app does not include advertising trackers or third-party analytics, and does not send your settings or usage history to a developer-operated server. You do not need a NeedRest account.
Apple purchases
Apple processes in-app purchases. NeedRest uses StoreKit to retrieve product prices and verify purchase entitlements, including restoration and revocation. The developer does not receive your payment card details. Apple processes information under its own privacy policy.
Website and email
This website does not set analytics cookies or use tracking scripts. Cloudflare hosts the site and processes connection information, such as IP addresses, as needed to serve and protect it. If you email support, your address and the information you choose to provide are processed to respond to your request. Do not include sensitive information that is unnecessary for support.
Retention and choices
App information remains in local application storage until you remove that storage. macOS may retain application data after the app is uninstalled. Your own device backups may include local app data. For help finding or removing NeedRest data, contact support. Support correspondence is retained as needed to resolve your request and meet applicable obligations; contact us to request deletion.

NeedRest is a general wellness reminder, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, or prevent disease and cannot guarantee protection from overwork or sudden death.
